My Forever Home

IMG_1714

My name is Nemo. I’m a year old and I have the energy to prove it. Before I came to my forever home, I was with another family that found me. I don’t remember how it happened, but on July 3, 2014 I broke my left front leg pretty bad. The humans took me to the vet, and because of the cost to make me better was too much for the people to afford, they were going to put me to sleep. Luckily my guardian angel was there to rescue me. She was a sweet vet tech, Christine, who fell in love with me, and before anyone could make any other decisions, she decided I was to precious to lose. She took custody of me and paid for all of my medical treatments. The next day I was on my way to her home. She and her husband, KP, had six other animal friends living with them, and I was running around in no time. It was like I was born to only have three legs. Unfortunately, having seven pets was getting to much for them to handle. So the man put a flier up at work giving my tale and asking for a good home. A few days later, July 6, 2014, I was back in the crate and taken to another home. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen, but I had hope that it would all be okay. They opened the crate and I slowly stepped out, greeted by two new faces. I slowly hopped around the room, trying to understand where I was at. The more I explored, the more I could smell another dog. The new humans tried to pet me, but I was too scared to let them. I let my guard down for a moment and the lady human caught me. She gave me lots of good rubs, being sure to keep away from my stitches, since they were still sore. The man human opened the back door and a big brown dog came bounding in. I wasn’t sure what to think of him. The lady (who now is mom) bent down so the big dog, Buddy, could smell me. I could tell that he liked me because he gave me a big lick on my face. I wiggled free and began to sniff Buddy back. He was very nice.IMG_1711

After all the introductions were made, the new family decided that they loved me and were going to keep me. Christine and KP were very sad to let me go, but knew that I was going to stay with the best forever family a little dog could ask for. I am thankful for my guardian angel and forever family. without them I wouldn’t have what I have today. A good home, a warm bed, and fond memories. Thank you for loving me.
